LIZ SAILE - JEWELRY

L Saile Designer Jewelry

Learning from the best, William F. Martinek, I began my jewelry career in the family store.  Spending 27 years at Martinek’s Jewelers, I acquired my work ethic and jewelry knowledge from my dad, “Mr. Martinek.” I enjoyed working with the finest gems, learned to engrave and do minor repairs during those years.  In addition to my work experience, I studied Diamond Identification, as well as Pearl and Bead restringing with the Gemological Institute of America.

My design work is casual, for our UpNorth style of living.  I enjoy working with gems and minerals native to Michigan: Petoskey Stone, Leland Blue, Thomsonite, and Unakite.  Cultured freshwater pearls, of many shapes, sizes and colors are used to enhance the natural beauty of these stones.  Because of the unique characteristics of the natural “gems,” these handmade pieces are truly one-of-a-kind custom designs.  Most pieces are designed in sterling silver.

Liz lives in Leelanau County where she runs her own store in Cedar. She features her stone work, jewelry, knitting, painting, sewing, and more in her store.

She also caters to custom designs and will polish and design pieces from the stones you find on your rock hunting journey!

Each of her unique and beautiful jewelry pieces come with a hand-painted jewelry box. Liz is a true artist, always dreaming and creating! We are so happy she is part of The Bear Den!
