RON WETZEL

Ron resides with his wife Carol in Leelanau County and has been painting for thirty years. He loves acrylics and the challenges that seem to come with the medium. An avid outdoorsman, Ron draws inspiration from his surroundings. Most of his artwork consists of scenes and subjects in northern Michigan. Wildlife, birds, and barns are a few of the things he enjoys to paint. He never met a bird he didn’t like – until a local pileated woodpecker started to look for food on the side of his house. Despite this, he found inspiration with this bird in one of our favorite paintings Good Harbor Pileated.

“Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.”
